Mr Arvind Gupta, with his brothers Ravi Gupta and Rajesh
Gupta, is one of the promoters of the Kanishk and OPG businesses. The
family, originally from Calcutta, have been in Chennai for sixty years and
the present promoters were born here. Commencing initially with the flour
milling operations of the wider family, the promoters have diversified into
steel, wind power, logistics and power generation.
Arvind Gupta (see detailed background under "Directors and Management")
manages the OPG Power businesses and has a strong background in building and
operating power generation facilties. Mr Gupta has also been involved in the
establishment of the GCPP model and in consultations with the Govt which led
to the formualtion of the GCPP regulations.
